Reasons why ElectricFM went offair

It wasn't as simple as waking up one day and deciding we'd cease broadcasting. There was much more to it, and the problems stemmed from multiple angles.

In 2016, Internet-only broadcasters were faced with the cancellation of a royalty agreement that enabled us to pay a flat rate for broadcasting music content. Beginning in January 2016, online-only broadcasters would need to pay a per-song rate for every song aired. Depending on how big your audience was, this can quickly turn into a lot of money.

For 2017, we made the difficult decision to cease broadcasting. Due to the ever-rising royalty costs, coupled with some personal matters, it was a very difficult decision to make. But, at the time, it was what was best. At the time, it wasn't known that we would eventually work toward a re-launch. We figured that was the end for ElectricFM. We were wrong, and are glad to be wrong on this!
