Three Years of Dance

What a ride! On Friday, ElectricFM celebrated its 3rd birthday. It's been a run ride along the way! Our first song aired right at 12:01am ET on 2/4/2008, Yves LaRock- Rise Up. Rise up indeed, because we have risen up over the last three years and became one of the major players in the world of online radio for dance music. And, we owe it all to you! If it weren't for our listeners tuning in every day, we wouldn't be where we are today. It's fun to play the hottest dance music in the world, but it's even hotter to know that we have fans all over the world tuning into ElectricFM. 2011 will be no exception, and we have so many ideas and plans for this year. We're working behind the scenes on many projects, and as soon as we can spill the details, we will! We know you're going to love what we have in store for you. A BIG THANK YOU to Ruby, Tim, Ares, and Derek for putting up with me over the years. ;) Without you guys, the station wouldn't be what it is today. And a BIG THANK YOU to all of our fans!!

Top 100 Countdown

Wow, the year is almost over! Every year it's a lot of fun seeing what dance tracks we played are going to make our countdown. After sitting in the production studio going over the spins and requests for the year, we have our top 100! It's always a lot of fun putting the show together. It will be airing on New Year's Eve starting at 6pm and will replay on New Year's Day. The countdown has been the highest rated show on ElectricFM since we started it back in 2008. What songs will make the cut? Can't tell you now, but you'll definitely have to tune in to find out!

New Website!

It was time to give the ElectricFM website a facelift! It was a lot of work behind the scenes to improve the website. With the new website, it'll be easier for everyone here at the station to update their blogs, and for the listeners to interact more. We are adding polls to the site for you to have a say in what we do. This isn't just a station that plays dance music, we want the station to be yours too and want input!

We also had a Nokia app created for ElectricFM. Nokia smartphones are really popular over in the UK and by adding an app for our listeners, we are reaching out to more people. We also will be having a Samsung bada app created in the coming weeks. Mobile internet is becoming more and more common, and this is breaking down the barriers of Internet radio. It's easier than ever before to take Internet radio in the car and on the go. Even if an app isn't available, we have a mobile website that includes tune-in links for the station to be streamed live. We are cutting down the barriers of FM and satellite radio and have the potential for our "signal" to be just about everywhere!
